Front desk Agent - customer service - job employment: Sleep Inn. in Bakersfeild, CA is looking for a full time front desk agent to join our strong team. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working. Responsibilities The Guest Service Agent is responsible for providing quality guest services that include registration and check-out, PBX operations, mail and message service. The GSA position is an integral part of the hotel operation and is directly responsible for the success of the hotel. This document is designed to provide an overview of general responsibilities and duties of your position it does not specify all details concerning the job. Your managers and supervisors will instruct you on your daily duties. The Guest Service agent is required to be proficient in four areas: POS/Operating System, Administrative, Local Knowledge, Sales and Marketing Operating System/ POS Demonstrate proficiency in Choiceadvantage. Check-in Procedure Check out procedures Booking Reservations Modifying and Cancelling Reservations Posting to folios Perform ongoing training in Choice University Review arrivals noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed. Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, all packages, and any special requests Ensure proper credit policies are followed. Administrative Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information. Complete all items on appropriate (AM, PM, Overnight) checklist by end of shift. Follow established key control policy. Submit all lost & found articles accompanied by a completed lost & found report. Open, secure, and balance out daily shift bank which involves counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions occurring while on duty. Verify credit limit report. Monitor room availability throughout the day. Review daily and future availability of the hotel, ensuring accuracy of reservations and hotel capacity. Review Third party Booking Sites Performs all other duties as directed by immediate supervisor. Local Knowledge Knowledgeable of immediate area, services, attractions, and events. Knowledgeable of fire and emergency procedures. Convention Schedule Restaurants Public transit Sales and Marketing Always maintain a friendly and professional attitude. Ensure complete contact information is collected on all guests, including company information. Collect business cards Explain and Sign Guests up for the Choice Privileges Program.
